It signifies strength, not weakness, and is encouraged even when difficult, fostering community unity, spiritual purity, and emotional well-being. Forgiving others is tied to receiving Allah's forgiveness, as "the merciful are shown mercy".  The Muslim is the brother of his fellow Muslim; he loves for him of good what he loves for himself, and he hates for him of evil ...
