HON ZAMZAM MOHAMMED REITERATES HER PLANS AND COMMITMENTS TO  EMPWOER WOMEN WHILE ATTENDING YWCA EVENT IN MOMBASA COUNTY 

Mombasa county MP Hon Zamzam Mohammed has yesterday attended the National Conference organized by the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) of Kenya at the PCEA Conference Hall, Makupa.

Hon Zamzam and other stakeholders and leaders have
discussed various issues especially understanding National Government Affirmative Action Fund - NGAAF and it’s constitutional mandate; SMEs, economic empowerment and gender based violence. 

National Government Affirmative Action Fund is a Semi Autonomous Government Agency (SAGA) under the Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action. 

Hon Zamzam reiterated that her office is committed to enhancing the livelihoods of the vulnerable women, youth, PWDs, elderly persons and children through excellent access of financial facilities for affirmative groups.

"Empowering young women will be my priority to economic growth, political stability & social transformation. Am planning to open a Women’s Academy to support young women and mentor them into leadership"  Hon Zamzam told the congregation.

They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
