KENYA TO OFFICIALLY DEPLOY TROOPS TO DRC CONGO
Yesterday, Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon Aden Duale
held a brief with the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations chaired by Nelson Koech - MP, Belgut Constituency - on the deployment of Kenya Contingent (KENCOM) and the East Africa Community Regional Forces (EACRF) to a peacekeeping and mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The deployment follows the heads of states summit of the EAC members states to restore peace, allow movement of humananitarian supplies and assist in the displaced.
Hon Duale, alongside the Vice Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla, pledged to entrench the defence and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries, as part of the larger strategy for regional peace and stability.
