"METRO GUY" ABBAS ABUBAKAR's INTERVIEW WITH KENYAN GUARDIAN NEWS COMING SOON


Sat atop an umpire chair wearing a bright yellow-green vest, the Metro Guy holds a megaphone in one hand and a foam “Number 1” hand in the other. As people walk by, he repeatedly announces “Metro, this way!” so that people will know that the, uh, Metro is that way. Serving as a much-needed reminder that the Internet is not all trolls and haters and that there are still good people out there, World Cup fans have made him a viral sensation. In fact, he’s become so popular that he was actually invited prior to the England-USA match where he led a whole stadium in chanting “Metro, this way!” 

Abbas Abubakar, was in Mombasa county before he became an Internet sensation courtesy of County MP Hon Zamzam Mohammed. During her recruitment drive for the World Cup, Hon Zamzam extended many job offers and opportunities to youths hailing from Mombasa and Abbas Abubakar was one of thr beneficiaries. 

Many have voiced their appreciation to the selfless acts of Hon Zamzam who has been exceptional in her bid to ensure as many youths as possible benefit from her recruitment drive.

They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
