eden Duale had the pleasure to accompany His Excellency Dr. @William Samoei Ruto, the President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of our Defence Forces during an engagement with Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) users and stakeholders in Mombasa.

The Port of Mombasa is a critical exit and entry point not only for goods from and to our country, but the East Africa Region. It therefore contributes immensely to the growth of our economy and creating hundreds of job opportunities.

The inter-ministerial approach is aimed at creating efficiency for clearing and transporting goods from the Port of entry to their intended destination to affirm investor confidence and provide steady supply of goods as a gateway to East Africa.

The President affirmed that the Government has made deliberate infrastructural investment to make the facility more effective and urged the investors to take this advantage by leveraging on the opportunity to maximize returns.

He implored the various Ministries and Agencies not to work in silos and remove all barriers to trade including reduction of weighbridges from 6 to 2 at the point of entry and exit from Kenya.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, other Cabinet colleagues, Ugandan Minister for Roads and Physical Planning General Edward Wamala, Chairperson of the Council of Governors Anne Mumbi, Mombasa Governor Abduswamad Nassir and other senior government officials were present.

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
