Mombasa Drainage Systems and its Good Management helped Reduce the effects of Flooding

MOMBASA DRAINAGE SYSTEMS AND ITS GOOD MANAGEMENT HAS GREATLY HELPED IN CURBING THE FLOODING 


Mombasa County's great management of its drainage systems and its subsequent maintenance has been the saving grace during the rains that pounded the coastal city in the last few days.

Unlike other counties which has experienced exponential and risky flooding leading to lose of properties, Mombasa county had a well crafted mitigating measures in place to deal with the likely scenario of such outcome as huge flooding. 

Thanks to the good work by County government through the Department of Transport and Infrastructure, a catastrophic results has been avoided by putting in place measures to address the past challenges occasioned by the rampant flooding. 

Since the current government came to office, the Department of Transport and Infrastructure has invested hugely on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the drainage systems which is the main conduit of directing flood water and emptying it at a safe place. 

Leadership is all about making difference. It's about solving issues of great importance to the great people who entrusted you with that responsibility.

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
