TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEPARTMENT, MOMBASA COUNTY AND WHY THEY ARE VESTED IN SECURITY LIGHTING IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD 



When it comes to urban safety, one often overlooked aspect is the effectiveness of security lighting. Neighbourhood lighting not only illuminates our paths but also plays a vital role in deterring criminal activities and preventing acts of vandalism.

Thanks to the visionary leadership of Governor Abdulswamad through the exemplary department of Transport and Infrastructure, each area of Mombasa county is well lit with installation of lights while those which multifunction are constantly repaired.

Dark and unlit areas often become prime targets for vandals. Installing effective security and street lighting can mitigate the risk of vandalism and its associated costs

VISIBILITY 

Adequate illumination of public areas enhances visibility, making it harder for criminals to hide or commit illicit activities without being noticed.

INCREASED SURVEILLANCE 

Properly lit streets encourage the community to be more vigilant. Well-lit areas not only provide clear visibility but also foster a sense of safety, empowering residents to actively monitor their surroundings and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
