TRADE,TOURISM AND CULTURE DEPARTMENT IS A HAVEN FOR CORRUPTION ENABLING THE STAFF ASKING FOR BRIBE.


Mombasa traders are being harassed by unscrupulous, semi-educated and arrogant goons who check Business Permits in businesses across the county, asking for bribes while the traders are braving the stench coming from uncollected garbage. They do this even when the trader has a valid permit as they call it fake and demand bribe. The level of corruption in this department is simply disgusting. 

Yet the Department of Tourism, Culture and Trade -Mombasa County. and those in charge of regulatory oversight are just sitting on their hands. It's like they abet, encourage and support this uncouth behaviour. 

Governor Abdulswamad must hear the cries of the people who braved the scorching sun to vote for him by taking action against this unruly department led by CECM who has decided to condone such actions.

Traders operating in unsafe and dirty environments due to garbage must not be on the receiving end of the barbaric acts perpetrated by this department. 

We demand change.

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
