HON UDGOON ACCUSE GOVERNOR NATHIF JAMA OF ENRICHING HIMSELF AND ADVANCE CORRUPTION IN GARISSA COUNTY 


Garissa County Women Rep Hon Udgoon Siyat has accused the County Government of Garissa of gross negligence, wanton corruption abated by the officials with the full awareness Governor Nathif Jama calling the governance situation as dire and unacceptable. 

The MP said the Governor chose to fill his pockets and those of his cronies while the state of the health in the county is in sad state of affairs. She questioned how billions of shillings allocated to the county has been spent adding that the absence or lack of chief officers in departments who double up as the accounting officers has given Nathif Jama the leeway to do whatever he wants irrespective of whether it's lawful or not. 

Hon Udgoon also noted that despite GAWASCO getting millions both from the county and outsourcing funds from organisations, the biting water scarcity and dry taps across the county is a testament of how corruption has deeply entrenched in the leadership of Governor Nathif. 

"We have hospitals which are in grotesque state. No drugs and other vital amenities, yet this Governor has been consistent in ignore the massive pilferage of the public funds done under his watch" Hon Udgoon said. 

She vowed to stop at nothing in her bid to hold Mr Nathif accountable saying history will judge her harshly if she remains silent.

"This is the same man who is shielding a rapist because he is a doctor who works for him. So we don't expect alot of righteous deeds from him. Let the funds meant for the great people of Garissa county be used prudently. Accountabilities is must." she said.

They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
