First Symposium on Strengthening Care for the Injured Held in English Point Marina

FIRST SYMPOSIUM ON STRENGTHENING CARE FOR THE INJURED HELD AT ENGLISH POINT MARINA. 


Earlier today Waziri Manyala Dan Department of Transport and Infrastructure Mombasa County. accompanied Governor H.E Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir to the first symposium on Strenghening Care for the Injured at English Point Marina. 

The Symposium is a collaboration of the County Government of Mombasa & John Hopkins Intn'l Injury Research Unit, aimed at galvanizing system-wide action for improving care for injury victims, exploring best practices to improve trauma systems as well as developing trauma care blueprint for action for Msa County. 

Also present were Prof. Abdulgafour Bachani PhD - John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Kent A. Stevens MD, MPH, John Hopkins School of Medicine, Mr. Daniel Wako, CDC Kenya, Mr. Ibrahim Basafar, Chief Fire Officer, CGM, Vipul Patel Bloomberg Philanthropies Coordinator for Msa, Department of Helath CGM, Kenya Red Cross Msa , St. John Ambulance Kenya among other players in trauma management space

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
