In it's pursuit and quest to fundamentally improve all it's core functions and mandate, The Directorate of Criminal Investigations had to adapt fast to the changing and ever mutating crime facet that has been getting more complex every day. To effectively tackle the new challenges, it was imperative to place someone as complex and well adapting to the role of heading the department.

They couldn't have found anyone as fitting as the current Director Mr Mohames Amin. A transformative, abrasive and no-nonsense figure who prioritised efficiency and never settles for anything less. His entrance into the revolving doors of the DCI offices has tossed mediocrity out of the windows.

A tech savvy, proffessional, result oriented and a man with a knack for facing challenges heads on, Mr Amin brought with him his vast knowledge in matters crime and the subsequent ways to tackle them. Today, the DCI stands tall as one of the most prominent, effective and efficient departments in the government. 

Prior to his appointment as DCI boss, Mohammed Amin led the internal affairs unit at the National police service and held senior positions at the CID and the Banking Fraud Investigation unit, where he reportedly occupied senior positions.

His rise to stardom has not been easy rising from a junior officer status to his current position, it seems like a plot not even Hollywood movie can depict. In the short period of time he has been in office, Mr Amin has ensured all the sections he heads effectively deliver.

- Serious crimes such as homicide, human trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, economic crimes, piracy, and cybercrime have been dealt with through his well thought out plans and policies. He has placed enough resources and manpower to hunt down the perpetrators. 

- Detecting and preventing crime has been effective too since Amin took over as Director

Apprehending offenders: this has been another area of success for DCI under the leadership of Amin. Fugitives have found it difficult to commit crime and run away from the consequences. 

- Conducting forensic analysis: The DCI has been excellent in doing forensic analysis to solve crime. Many crimes have been solved as Mr Amin has placed competent sleuths well versed in that field.

Kenyans have already witnessed the exceptional work improvements experienced under the Director Amin's tenure at helm of the investigative network. Many approve the approach and the positive turn the DCI has taken and have applauded the transformational agenda Mr Amin has laid down as the blueprint to make the Investigative body even more competent.
