Mombasa Road Safety Report Launched by Governor Abdulswamad Shariff

MOMBASA ROAD SAFETY REPORT OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED BY GOVERNOR NASSIR.


The Mombasa, Road Safety Report, a groundbreaking initiative that outlines key strategies to enhance road safety and reduce traffic-related fatalities across the county has officially been launched by Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir . 

County Executive in charge of Transport and Infrastructure department Manyala Dan said the report's importance cannot be overstated in their pursuit to have a safe roads in our county. 

"This report is a vital step toward fostering safer, more sustainable roads for all Mombasa residents" Manyala said.

Road Safety partners led by Ms. Rebecca Bavinger- Director Bloomberg Philanthropies and Prof. Abdulgafor Bachani of John Hopkins University were also present.

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
