HON DUALE DISCUSS THE ONGOING HEALTH SECTOR REFORMS ON KBC RADIO TAIFA AND RADIO IFTIN

This morning, CS Aden Duale engaged the public on KBC Radio Taifa and Radio Iftin, discussing the ongoing health sector reforms under the 5th Administration's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.

The Health CS addressed listeners' key concerns, particularly on the Social Health Authority (SHA); the Government's new financing framework that replaced the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and guarantees access to primary healthcare, emergency services and the Critical Illnesses Fund.

"Since SHA came into force, we have mobilised KSh 81 billion to strengthen affordable healthcare delivery and more than 30 million Kenyans are now registered." He said.

He added that teenage mothers are fully supported under the Linda Jamii Scheme, the successor to Linda Mama. The programme offers free antenatal, delivery and postnatal services through a unique identification number that ensures teenage mothers receive care even without a parent's ID. So far, 22,000 teenage mothers have benefitted from services under this new scheme.

Hon Duale said the government remain resolute in delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare to every Kenyan, including those in remote and underserved regions, as we continue advancing the Taifa Care Model.

He uged all Kenyans to register under SHA as we scale up the delivery of quality-assured healthcare through President Dr. William Ruto's transformative health agenda.
