DIRECTOR AMIN: FROM DUSTY WAJIR OUTSKIRTS TO HIS INCREDIBLE WORLD STAGE TRIUMPH

INTERPOL VICTORY IS TESTAMENT TO HIS STRONG FAITH, PROFESSIONALISM AND ABSOLUTE INTEGRITY

By GIGGS YULE MOJA

Mohamed I. Amin, the Director of Criminal Investigations has once again hoisted our Kenyan flag high on International podium after his heroic and historical election as Africa's Delegate to the INTERPOL Executive Committee at the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakech, Morocco, 27th November,  2025.

A boy, born in the dusty suburbs of Wajir County has risen to grace the world stage, bringing both pride and joy not only in Kenya, but across the African continent. His victory points to what discipline, dedication and sheer efforts can do. Mr Amin has carried the weight of a nation to an international level and delivered a scintillating win, bringing attention and exposure to the great country of Kenya.

Amin's meteoric rise to stardom and incredible achievements is a huge testament that hard work rarely goes unrewarded. He believed in his capabilities, pursued it to make it happen and he gradually overcame all hurdles to emerge on of the best our country has produced. Both in tenacity and professionalism.

His election to INTERPOL, reaffirms Kenya’s commitment to international cooperation and multilateral security partnerships. In his capacity as a delegate, Mr Amin will bring his unmatched expertise, experience and wisdom to the Global security stage.

Mr Amin's continental victory represents the trust and confidence of INTERPOL's Member Countries in Kenya's commitment to strengthening both regional and global security frameworks. It reinforces Kenya’s vision for a safe and resilient Africa, one that advances innovation, deepens meaningful partnerships, and enhances cooperation to counter cyber threats, terrorism, illicit trafficking, financial crimes, as well as crimes targeting women and children.

President William Ruto's undying trust and faith in Mr Amin without a doubt drives my point home: that he represents the best of all those the country could have brought fourth. Ruto's confidence in his candidacy reflects Mr Amin's commitment to international policing and the importance of partnership across the regions.

As he takes over this role, i am sure Mr Amin as often known will continue to advocate for the tools, capacities, and cooperation needed to dismantle criminal networks and defend the rights and lives of everyone.

With more than three decades of exemplary service in law enforcement, Mr. Amin has consistently championed operational excellence, accountability, and the rule of law.

His tenure has been marked by substantial achievements, including strengthening Kenya's integration with INTERPOL's policing infrastructure and deepening collaborative relationships with AFRIPOL, EAPCCO, and international security partners, positioning him well to represent African interests on the global stage.

Mr Amin has a proven, albeit in his journey, that no matter where you hail from or who you are, with grace, discipline and har work, your way to stardom is well paved.
