(PHOTOS) Garissa Township MP candidate Mr Major Dekow has earlier today presented his nomination papers to IEBC for clearance in the run-up to the By Election slated to take place.  Major Dekow of UDA party is seen as the clear favourite to clinch the seat and replace Hon Aden Duale who has joined the executive arm of the government as the Defence Cabinet Secretary. 

DEFENCE AGAINST HUNGER! DEFENCE MINISTRY JOIN THE PRESIDENT AND NATIONAL STEERING COMMITTEE ON DROUGHT TO DEFEND CITIZENS AGAINST HUNGER (MORE PHOTOS) A country is as strong as the health of its citizens. Before playing the primary role of defending our territorial borders against external aggression, the Ministry of Defence joined the President and the members of the National Steering Committee on Drought Response, headed by Safaricom CEO, Peter Ndegwa, to defend our citizens from the pangs of hunger that attack from the inside. The Committee raised Ksh. 542 million, funds that will partly be transferred to the drought affected families and also used to purchase foodstuffs for distribution in hunger stricken zones. As a Ministry, we also commit to support the President in his endeavour to create a national food basket by investing in agricultural production. 'Defence against Hunger!' that is our rallying call.
