Tourism, Trade and Culture CECM Mohamed Osman Vows to Promote and Support the Handicrafts Industry

TRADE, TOURISM AND CULTURE CECM MOHAMED OSMAN PROMISE TO BACK AND SUPPORT HANDICRAFTS INDUSTRY IN A BID TO BOOST TOURISM AND ENTERPRISE 



Handicrafts form an integral part of tourist experience. They represent local traditions and indigenous populations, also a valuable souvenir. Many countries benefit from handicrafts as a part of the cultural tourism dominated by archaeological and heritage sites, since they provide communities with a source of income and jobs opportunities. Such benefits varies though from a country to another.

In encouraging and promoting the Handicrafts industry, CECM Tourism, Trade and Culture Mohamed Osman Ali recently went to Akamba Handicraft Industry, a well-known Co-Operative Society recognized for its distinctive and lively handcrafted items. It's a favorite spot among both tourists and locals. 

During his visit, he explored strategies to back the enterprise, promote their products, and enhance their skills and customer service.

TUDOR WARD AND THE SPILLAGE OF RAW SEWAGE INTO HOUSES POINTS TO POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.  The people of Tudor Four have been neglected by the County Government of Mombasa. They are up in arms over raw sewage spilling of into their houses as the drainages are yet be unclogged.  They said they have appealed to Governor Abdulswamad but he has so far ignored them. The sewage has submerged part of the road forcing pedestrians to look for alternative routes. "So the county government has preference of which area to help or not? Why is Tudor ward not getting the services we deserve? Salim Abdalla said. He warned the Governor that they will not vote for him again since he no longer treats all areas the same. The ongoing heavy rains has exposed the weaknesses of the County Government of Mombasa especially it's preparedness to tackle flood related issues.
