Hon Duale Plays Host to WFP Country Director Ms Lauren Landis

HON DUALE PLAYS HOST TO WFP COUNTRY DIRECTOR MS LAUREN LANDIS  Hon Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry hosted Ms. Lauren Landis, World Food Programme (WFP) Kenya Country Director, for a courtesy visit to discuss the proposed GOK-WFP: Climate Resilient and Inclusive Food Systems programme. The initiative introduces a groundbreaking 'food-for-food security swaps' climate financing model, with WFP serving as the Development Impact Provider, working closely with national and county institutions in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs). The discussion followed up on an October workshop in Naivasha, focusing on tackling food insecurity, climate change impacts and fiscal challenges.  Hon Duale was joined by Mr. Kennedy Olwasi and Mr. Lerenten Lelekoiten from the Climate Change Directorate.

Hon Duale Hosts the Outgoing Kuwait Ambassador, Discuss Myriads of Issues

HON DUALE HOSTS THE OUTGOING KUWAIT AMBASSADOR QUSAIL RASHED  Hon Aden Duale hosted the outgoing Ambassador of Kuwait to Kenya, H.E Qusail Rashed Al Farhan for a farewell courtesy call. Amb. Al Farhan, who has served in Kenya for nine years, has been instrumental in strengthening diplomatic ties, particularly in environmental conservation and sustainable development.  They discussed advancing collaboration on climate action and biodiversity preservation. Hon Duale commended the Ambassador's dedication and significant contributions to fostering strong relations between the 2 nations and wished him success in his future endeavours.

INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT BY GOVERNOR ABDULSWAMAD SHOULD BE PRAISED  Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir's administration may not be perfected in many ways and it may have not addressed myriads of issues but one silver lining has been the exceptional performance of his department of Transport and Infrastructure. It's unanimously believed that Infrastructural development across Mombasa County has had an enormous impact on public.  The Department has been working hard in addressing perennial issues that has bedevilled the county for far too long and it has been quite effective in tackling it. From drainage systems to access roads to streetlights, CECM Manyala Dan and his team have delivered and continue to do so efficiently and successfully.  All credits goes to the Governor and the man he placed at the helm of this vital department, Manyala Dan.

What makes him even more efficient is how he is personally ensures the oversight of the work his office is doing even in the middle of the night.

Duale Unveils the Expansion of Kaberua Tree Nursery to 1 Million

DUALE UNVEILS THE EXPANSION OF KABERUA TREE NURSERY FROM 500K TO 1 MILLION Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka have unveiled the expansion of Kaberua Tree Nursery in Kapsokwony from an annual production capacity of 500,000 to 1 million seedlings. With the expansion, the new Kaberua Tree Nursery will cover 2 acres up from the current 1 acre, and will help accelerate restoration of degraded parts of Mt. Elgon Forest in line with the 15 Billion National Tree Growing Programme. The Kaberua Tree Nursery expansion initiative, led by Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and Kaberua Community Forest Association (CFA), as part of the Integrated Landscape Management for Conservation and Restoration of Mt. Elgon Forest Ecosystem Project launched today, will create new employment opportunities in the area.

INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS IN MOMBASA SHOULD BE LAUDED. Infrastructure development plays a key role in stimulating economic growth of a city. Thus, the County Government of Mombasa shall continue to improve on the development of its infrastructure to ensure the smooth running of our port city.  The Department of Transport and Infrastructure is in the process of ensuring the county is well lit to reduce cases of insecurity and maximize economic and social activities in all 30 wards The Department is also spearheading the upgrading of the storm water drainage systems across all the sub-counties. The efforts of the Governor and those in charge of managing the transport and infrastructure should be commended.
