HON ZAMZAM MOHAMMED SAYS SHE IS REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RIGHTS OF ASSOCIATION GIVEN TO LGBTQ COMMUNITY  Hon Zamzam Mohammed has voiced her displeasure, discomfort and disappointment by the decision of the supreme Court of Kenya to give the right of association to LGBTQ community saying its unfortunate Hon Zamzam has said as an MP, mother and a Muslim woman who values her faith, she is totally against such moves to validate unnatural lifestyle thus endangering our kids. The county Mp said that the judges have set precedent where even the thugs and robbers will move to court to ask for the same status which will prove to be detrimental to the society.  Hon Zamzam made it clear she will always oppose such issue and will defend her faith.

HON DUALE: THE FIGHT AGAINST BANDITRY WILL BE FOUGHT FROM ALL FRONTS. The fight against banditry in Northern Kenya which has now attracted the intervention of the Kenya Defence Forces will be fought from all fronts, including, if need be, a legislative approach. Held a meeting with MPs, Hon. Kimani Ichungwah (Majority Leader of the National Assembly and MP, Kikuyu Constituency), Hon. Mohammed Dekow (Garissa Township) and Hon. Chege Njuguna (Kandara) at Parliament, Nairobi. We discussed, among other things, the support of the National Assembly and Senate in giving approval for the full deployment of the KDF to play a lead role in fighting and ending banditry, should it come to that. 

HON DUALE GIVES NOTICE THAT THE KENYA DEFENCE FORCES SHALL BE DEPLOYED IN COUNTIES WITH CLASHES  Via Hon Aden Duale  The security of Kenyans is something the Government will not gamble with. Anyone, the bandits in particular, who is perpetrating acts of violence on innocent civilians will be dealt with swiftly and conclusively! I have today given notice that the Kenya Defence Forces shall be deployed in support of the National Police Service in response to the security emergency in Turkana, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Laikipia and Samburu Counties.

CS DUALE MEETS UN COUNTER-TERRORISM OFFICIALS Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale has held talks with the Director of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) Dr. Jehangir Khan who paid him a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters. The CS appreciated the wide range of programs UNCCT has rolled out among them infrastructure protection, border security, cyber security and technologies, counter-violent extremism targeting the youths among other programs. Hon. Duale outlined the commitment of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to fight terror, efforts that have been boosted by the creation of a regional UNCCT office in Nairobi to enhance the UN agenda to fight terrorism. Dr. Jehangir acknowledged the role Kenya has played in combating terrorism in the region noting that the country has been a victim of terrorism-related activities in the past. 

MOMBASA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT UNDERTOOK COMMUNITY DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING Disaster preparedness consists of a set of measures undertaken in advance by governments, organisations, communities, or individuals to better respond and cope with the immediate aftermath of a disaster, whether it be human-induced or caused by natural hazards. The objective is to reduce the loss of life and livelihoods. In line with their determination to ensure they are ready and well prepared for any future disaster or safety concerns, the Mombasa County Fire brigade in conjuction with Kenya Red cross mombasa branch undertook a Community disaster preparedness and response program aimed at reducing effects of disasters, improving the resilience of community in coping with disasters. The main focus of the awareness campaign was First Aid and Fire suppresion. To achieve this, we are committed to consult wider and forge new partnerships with relevant bodies, among them, the Kenya United States Liaison Office (KUSLO). Hosting a delegation from KUSLO, led by Ms. Jessie Evans at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi, we discussed the best practices and approaches for developing a comprehensive Defence Civilian Policy.  The meeting, which was attended by Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla, came as a culmination of a week-long workshop on integration of civilian staff within the military environment.

HON ADEN DUALE ACCOMPANIED PRESIDENT RUTO TO SOMALIA FOR A SUMMIT  To end terrorism and its associated criminalities in and around the Horn of Africa calls for a collective effort from all member states. Hon Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary Defence was privileged to accompany President William Ruto to Mogadishu for the Somalia Frontline States Summit. The gathering is intended to suggest lasting solutions for the stabilisation of Somalia and eradication of terrorism and terror threats. Speaking at the summit, the President boldly affirmed Kenya's stand on terrorism and the unwavering commitment of his government to work with relevant agencies to, 'ruthlessly dismantle terror networks in the Horn of Africa'. Present were President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia; President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti; Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia, among other leaders and distinguished dignitaries.
